It has been hand polished and handcrafted by artisans here at Platypus Dreaming, in Far North Queensland, Australia. . This talisman also features a 1000 pure silver tribal bead that has been hand-cut and chiseled using traditional techniques.

Elimia / Turritella Agate is the popular name used for translucent to semi-transparent, fossiliferous agate found in the Green River Formation of Wyoming. It is very easy to recognize because it contains large fossil snails that stand out in a white-to-tan color that contrasts with the brownish agate.

Turritella Agate is a spiritual crystal, deeply connected to the earth and home, to one’s personal roots and ancestry, even the events of one’s past. It is a survival stone, one of strength and protection. Ancient life held within its form lends the power of wisdom and healing.

Turitella Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. It is rich, earthy brown or black, and recognized by the sea creature and fossilized snail patterns within the stone, or in a thick coating around it.

Turritella Agate is a stone of personal connection with one’s past – ancestry, homeland, and the country from which those ancestors came. As a record keeper crystal, it may be used to gain access to the wisdom of past worlds and past life recall. [Eason, 111]

Rocks of the Green River Formation contain a story of what the environment was like about 50 million years ago in what is now parts of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. At that time, forces within the Earth were almost finished with the job of uplifting the Rocky Mountains, and the landscape consisted of rugged mountains separated by broad intermountain basins.

Our items are created and designed in Australia in alignment with the healing frequency of the oldest rainforest on Earth.

Using Your Talisman

Absolutely! These pieces are designed for surfers, swimmers, and alike. They can be worn in the shower, and/or when swimming – and the colours will not fade. Our talismans have proven their durability in our rainforest home against the elements of sun, water, humidity, and heat.

Platypus Dreaming creations are handcrafted using the highest quality waxed strings on earth. They are designed to be long lasting and with the right care, they will maintain their original shape and colour for years to come. These talismans are water resistant and feel very organic when worn against the skin. All stones have different hardness levels so please be gentle and treat them with the right level of care. Each piece is designed with longevity in mind. We only use silver and/or stainless-steel beads which will never rust or loose colour.

We recommend a gentle rinse under fresh water – preferably rain or river water. Moonlight also works beautifully, as does smoke, i.e. sage, or Palo Santo. You can also use other crystals to energetically clear your talisman, such as an amethyst cluster. Some crystal talismans benefit from being cleaned regularly as they are carriers of energy. Others, such as moldavite, are independent beings and do not need cleansing. We have been travelling the world for 15+ years to source exotic and interesting gemstones. Wherever possible, we travel directly to the source, to develop a first-hand relationship with the people who take the stones from the Earth. This ensures we are familiar with the processes involved when extracting the stones from Earth; and that stones are ethically hand-collected with great respect and care.

Items generally ship within 1-3 business days and generally take 2-7 business days in transit for domestic, and 8-20 business days for international. Custom creations may take longer. All Platypus Dreaming creations come in a bespoke jewellery box, along with a handwritten note. They are carefully wrapped in unique materials, to ensure each piece arrives safely at your doorstep.

Items can be returned for exchange or store credit within 14 days from delivery. Items must be returned in the same original condition and packaging, without damage.
