This is a super rare stone — the original Gaspeite mine in Western Australia is now closed, and pieces of this quality are nearly impossible to find.
Each stone is hand-collected and polished by us at Platypus Dreaming in Ngunbay (Kuranda), Far North Queensland, the oldest rainforest on Earth. This talisman is non-gendered, vegan, and one-of-a-kind, created to honour the sacred story held within the stone.
🌏 Origin & Significance
Gaspeite from Western Australia has been used by local First Nation peoples since the Dreaming for visioning and spiritual connection. We honour the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, recognising their continuing connection to land, water, and community.
We pay our deepest respect to Elders past, present, and emerging.
This gemstone’s luminous apple-green and brown tones are completely natural — 95 % of Gaspeite sold online is not true Australian origin. This piece was polished by hand to reveal its authentic Mother Earth character and is part of our First Nation Collection.

Every talisman is created in our rainforest studio using ancient macramé knot techniques and the strongest vegan waxed cords for durability and comfort.
We follow primitive, earth-connected craftsmanship, creating with our hands, teeth, and natural tools — a true collaboration with the rainforest.
Handmade from start to finish, solar-powered and fair-trade, every creation takes between 7–10 hours and is consciously made by two people with love and respect.

Stone Information
Using expert lapidary equipment, stones are hand-cut and polished at our studio in Kuranda, Far North Queensland. All stones are hand-cut by artisans in Australia.

Each talisman is hand-woven using the highest quality waxed cords on Earth. These have a soft and organic feel against the skin, and are ideal for those who prefer an alternative to metal.

Using Your Talisman
Can I shower with this talisman?
Absolutely! These pieces are designed for surfers, swimmers, and alike. They can be worn in the shower, and/or when swimming – and the colours will not fade. Our talismans have proven their durability in our rainforest home against the elements of sun, water, humidity, and heat.
How do I care for my crystal talisman?
Platypus Dreaming creations are handcrafted using the highest quality waxed strings on earth. They are designed to be long lasting and with the right care, they will maintain their original shape and colour for years to come. These talismans are water resistant and feel very organic when worn against the skin. All stones have different hardness levels so please be gentle and treat them with the right level of care. Each piece is designed with longevity in mind. We only use silver and/or stainless-steel beads which will never rust or loose colour.
How do I cleanse my crystal talisman?
We recommend a gentle rinse under fresh water – preferably rain or river water. Moonlight also works beautifully, as does smoke, i.e. sage, or Palo Santo. You can also use other crystals to energetically clear your talisman, such as an amethyst cluster. Some crystal talismans benefit from being cleaned regularly as they are carriers of energy. Others, such as moldavite, are independent beings and do not need cleansing. Where do you get your stones from?
We have been travelling the world for 15+ years to source exotic and interesting gemstones. Wherever possible, we travel directly to the source, to develop a first-hand relationship with the people who take the stones from the Earth. This ensures we are familiar with the processes involved when extracting the stones from Earth; and that stones are ethically hand-collected with great respect and care.

Yes, all creations come with complementary worldwide shipping. If you wish to add express shipping and/or postal insurance, kindly upgrade at checkout.
How long will it take to arrive?
Items generally ship within 1-3 business days and generally take 2-7 business days in transit for domestic, and 8-20 business days for international. Custom creations may take longer. How will my item be packaged?
All Platypus Dreaming creations come in a bespoke jewellery box, along with a handwritten note. They are carefully wrapped in unique materials, to ensure each piece arrives safely at your doorstep.

Items can be returned for exchange or store credit within 14 days from delivery. Items must be returned in the same original condition and packaging, without damage.
