This powerful Rainbow Obsidian talisman has been handcrafted by our 5–7 artisan collective here at Platypus Dreaming, deep in the ancient rainforests of Far North Queensland, Australia. This remarkable mineral formed when molten volcanic lava cooled in layers, trapping tiny magnetite nanoparticles within. These microscopic inclusions create the luminous, multicoloured iridescent “rainbow rings” that reveal themselves when light touches the stone.

Rainbow Obsidian is found in a few key volcanic regions of the USA, each piece holding the memory of ancient fire, earth, and transformation.

Cut and polished by hand, this talisman is set in our strong, water-friendly handwoven tropical cord, making it ideal for daily wear, ceremony, grounding practices, and emotional restoration.
